Hey Team
So alas...I'm not actually in Peru or Bolivia. This email is being written long after. If you can believe it there was a time when internet cafe's weren't everywhere, where it was easy to find yourself off the track in South America, and I didn't actually send out these email blogs all the time during trips.
I just wanted to put up a quick highlight list of this trip, which I took with a good friend who's extended family is from Cusco, Peru.
It started on a June afternoon when I was talking to Liz and she said that her family was going to Peru in a few weeks for a trip. I said "I'd like to goto Peru", meaning, someday I would like to go there. She said "I bet you could, let me check".
And a few hours later we were looking for flights and getting ready to go.
The Culture shock that hit me when I landed in Lima was pretty awesome. I'd never been to a developing nation before (other than Tijuana, Mexico, and I thought surely no where else could be quite as grand as that.:)
And Peru was better, but it was wild. Just the flow of traffic, the signs, the houses, the people. It took some getting used to. But I was fortunate enough to have Liz there who spoke Spanish and was a great travel partner.
Next stop Cusco...
